Same spline design: XD is the MTB standard, XDR is slightly longer for road hubs. Match the cassette to the driver on your wheel.

Can I mix Eagle tiers?

Yes — X01, GX and NX 12-speed Eagle parts are cross-compatible, so you can upgrade one part at a time.

Which chain do I need?

Road AXS drivetrains use SRAM's Flattop chain; Eagle MTB drivetrains use the Eagle chain — the two are not interchangeable.
